Financial Analytics with gross revenue, net revenue, unpaid revenue, number of orders, net profit and a revenue chart by month

The problem

Busy isn't the same as profitable

You can see the bank balance, but not which jobs made money, which customers still owe you, or what your margin really was last quarter.

Profit after the fact

The accountant tells you months later whether the year was good.

Costs not tied to jobs

Material and supplier costs aren't linked to the work they paid for.

Tax by spreadsheet

Working out the tax you collected and paid takes an afternoon.

How it works

Your numbers, from the work you already track

Revenue, unpaid and profit at the top

Choose a year, a month, or the last three or five years. The headline cards show gross revenue, net revenue before tax, unpaid revenue, the number of orders and net profit with its margin, each compared with the same period before.

  • Revenue by month: click a month to open it
  • Payments received for the period

Where the money went

See the cost breakdown across material, services, labour and shop supplies, revenue by material, and the completed jobs in the period with their payment status. Purchase orders and other expenses are listed for the period and subtracted to give net profit.

  • Purchase orders and expenses by period
  • Tax collected, tax paid and net tax to remit
  • Every figure rounded the way it's shown, so the totals reconcile

Example

Checking the third quarter

An owner reviews July to September before a planning meeting.

  1. Pick the period. Choose the year, then each month, or look at the year so far.
  2. Read the headline. Revenue, unpaid revenue and net profit with margin, against last year.
  3. Find the drivers. Revenue by month shows which months carried the quarter; the cost breakdown shows where money went.
  4. Send it on. Export the CSV for the accountant.
